Joseph Petrelli joined Modern Bank in December of 2011 to originate and underwrite commercial real estate loans. Prior to joining Modern Bank, Joe was a member of Anglo Irish Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Lending Group, where he was responsible for the asset management of over $1 billion performing and non-performing commercial real estate loan facilities. While at Anglo Irish Bank, Joe also served on the Bank’s syndication desk, responsible for managing $1.4 billion of senior and subordinate syndicated CRE loans and worked on the successful sale of the bank’s $10 billion U.S. loan portfolio. Before joining Anglo Irish Bank, he was a member of AIG/ SunAmerica’s Commercial Mortgage Lending Group responsible for originating and underwriting commercial real estate loans in the Northeastern United States for balance sheet and CMBS execution.
Joe earned a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College and a certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University.
Peter joined Modern Bank during October-2015, working as part of Modern’s commercial real estate team to originate and underwrite loans. Peter has been in the commercial real estate lending sector for the past 15 years, spanning origination, underwriting, and portfolio management responsibilities at major firms including KeyBank Real Estate Capital, Nomura Securities, and Wachovia (predecessor of Wells Fargo); and has structured and lent over $500MM of construction, bridge, and permanent commercial real estate loans during his lending career. He has cultivated an extensive network of highly experienced commercial real estate relationships over time, most of whom are based in the New York City market area.
His educational background consists of an undergraduate degree earned at the University of South Carolina, an MBA with concentration in finance earned at Rutgers University, and CFA Candidacy.
Kevin is a Portfolio Manager in Modern Bank's Commercial Real Estate group and has over ten years of commercial real estate lending experience. Prior to joining Modern Bank, Kevin worked at The Community Preservation Corporation (“CPC”), where he asset managed, underwrote and closed multifamily and mixed use loans on behalf of the GSE’s, pension funds and other financial institutions. While at CPC, Kevin also led their secondary market team, structuring and coordinating whole loan sales and syndications.
Kevin graduated from Fairfield University with a B.A. in Economics and is a NYS licensed real estate salesperson.
Tom is an analyst in Modern Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Group and has 5 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining Modern Bank, Tom worked at SCS Strategic Capital structuring, modeling and underwriting senior debt, subordinated debt, and preferred equity investments for multifamily, retail, and hotel properties. Tom also worked at Walker & Dunlop where he underwrote Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily loans nationwide.
Tom graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.
